BIOGRAPHY

Remal Felistini is an emerging Australian composer, singer and song writer. His evocative powerful, expressive and deeply heart-felt musical language is influenced by his sufferings from long years of displacement as an ex Palestinian refugee. His sincere musical style blends together the Arabic and Western musical worlds. His unique moving orchestral style may include his Arabic emotive vocal, electronics, and western harmonies making his musical style highly distinctive in the world. Born a stateless Palestinian refugee outside his homeland Palestine in Southern Lebanon, Remal lived 27 years of his life with no civil rights and was exposed to war, racism, hatred and poverty. His tragic refugee status prevented him from having an access to a piano. He then used his only instrument he could access at that time which was his Arabic voice as an authentic expression of his deep pain and sufferings.

Remal has completed his Music Composition Degree at an elite music academy the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in Western Australia. Significant recent works released on 36 musical stores worldwide a whole Orchestral album which includes 8 tracks of “Voyager” with its five different movements written for his final graduation recital. Voyager started as a 5 min orchestral piece and was turned into a 45-minute vibrant orchestral suite with unique orchestral style that includes his Arabic vocal. Also, his unique piece “Fajr” received a warm reception by the audience during his third-year recital at WAAPA. He also recorded professionally some of his work with Lee Buddle at Crank Recordings which included two of his chamber pieces for piano, violin and cello and two progressive rock songs using his Arabic vocal which were released on iTunes and Spotify in 2020. Three years ago, Remal managed to own his dream baby grand Yamaha piano and he is currently using his perfume shop Nostalgia on Murray Street in Perth - Western Australia to compose orchestral music and sell niche perfumes imported from Dubai. Many of his colourful compositions have been performed during lunch time and evenings concerts at WAAPA. His latest composition completed was his Piano Sonata No-1 "An Elegy To My Late Father Who Lived and Died as a Refugee - Intermundane" in C minor which will be recorded professionally in the coming weeks and released world wide. Remal is in the process of orchestrating his first Piano Sonata and aiming to release it soon for the world to enjoy.
